Analytica 4.2 Features
To order Analytica
|
We now offer flexible options for
organizations with multiple users of Analytica. With Analytica release 4.2, you can manage all
of your Analytica licenses centrally from a single server using the Reprise License Manager (RLM)
from Reprise Software. No longer will end users need to manage their own Individual Licenses.
By allowing you to track the usage of each type of license, the RLM will also help you see whether
you need more or fewer licenses. It will also reduce the risk of inadvertent software piracy, enable
the transfer of licenses between users without the need for new Lumina license codes, and simplify
the license activation process for each user.
RLM supports Named User Licenses and Floating Licenses (sometimes known as concurrent licenses).
With named user licenses, you purchase a license for each specific person. In contrast, each floating
license is available to anyone in your organization, but only one person may use it at a time. In what's known as a
Roaming License, a user can check a floating license out onto their laptop for out-of-office,
off-network use. (The floating license is not available for use by others until it is checked back in and
reconnected to the network.)
|
| How to get started |
First, you must decide on the number and types of licenses by edition.
If you already have individual licenses, you can convert them to use the central license manager at no cost:
Named user licenses replace individual licenses one-for-one. Or, you can replace two-and-a-half individual licenses
with a floating license (or five individual licenses with two floating licenses). Once you let us know what you want, we'll
send you one file containing licenses for all the new and converted licenses.
Many organizations already use RLM for other software. But if your organization doesn't yet use the RLM,
it's easy and free to install it on a server computer. Your installer (likely someone in IT) will then upload the license file,
configure access, and let all current and potential Analytica users know that Analytica is available. For details on how to install
the RLM, see Configuring an RLM Server.
|
| How Each Analytica User Installs the Software |
After setting up the RLM on a server, the IT admin sends each user the name of the server, the port number
(if it doesn't use the default 5053), and which edition of Analytica to use, whether Professional, Enterprise, Optimizer, etc.
(Or, the user can choose any edition from those available.) The user then downloads the Analytica installer from the Analytica
Download Page. During installation, he or she specifies the server name and selects the Analytica edition. At any time, the user
can switch to a different edition from those available via a pull-down menu in the Analytica License dialog.
For more details on how to install Analytica using the RLM, see
How to install Analytica - Centrally Managed License.
